چکیده

Crush injuries to the forefoot can result in prolonged treatment and disability may necessitate amputation. Providing prompt definitive treatment, including early debridement wound coverage, is important for enabling favorable clinical outcomes avoiding complications. Split-thickness skin grafts (STSGs) offer a tension-free biologic barrier, but they need be applied an adequately-prepared bed (i.e. sufficient granulation tissue). A synthetic hybrid-scale fiber matrix provide ideal solution promoting formation of tissue preparing application STSG while eliminating risks associated with products. This case report investigated use as foundation treat acute traumatic crush injury. Three weeks after was resulting from injury, deemed well-granulated over void adequately prepared STSG. site, another 3 (6 post-application matrix), 100% take observed, indicating successful outcome The positive results seen this suggest that new option trauma wounds STSGs.

In fact, patients often ask about other alternatives when confronted with the need to harvest STSG, particularly because they fear additional disfigurement. Because recent evidence suggests that a moist environment promotes more optimal healing, we conducted a...
